چکیده

This study aimed to develop an eco-friendly, lightweight, and synthetic aggregate (SLA) based on clay suitable for use in structural lightweight concrete. The researchers utilized the cold-bonded pelletization process agglomerate pozzolanic materials, specifically attapulgite extracted from a quarry, crushed into fine filler. appropriate calcination temperature manufacturing this as material is 750°C. A total of 22 mixes were created using combination high reactive (HRA) cement (PC), with replacement rate varying 100-50% by 10% decrement. Different types curing methods, including oven-dry, oven-water, room-water, room-room, applied. properties evaluated determine density, specific gravity, water absorption, impact value, crushing strength, compressive strength. results revealed that it could produce clay-based materials bulk density 793kg/m3 physical mechanical properties. As percentage mixture increased, gravity increased 18.12% 36.61%, whereas values improved 81.83%. This, turn, leads significant boost strength up 100.94%. Furthermore, there noticeable decrease absorption. Moreover, held under oven positively impacts development cement-based composites.

internal curing of high strength self consolidating concrete by saturated lightweight aggregate - effects on material properties

self-desiccation is the major source of autogenous shrinkage and crack formation in low water-binder ratio (w/b) concretes which can be reduced by internal curing. in this paper performance of high strength self consolidating concrete (hs-scc) with w/b of 0.28 and 0.33 including autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage, compressive strength, and resistance to freezing-thawing was investigated. th...

Prediction of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Compressive Strength

Nowadays, the better performance of lightweight structures during earthquake has resulted in using lightweight concrete more than ever. However, determining the compressive strength of concrete used in these structures during their service through a none-destructive test is a popular and useful method.  One of the main methods of non-destructive testing in the assessment of compressive strength...

Flashag – New Lightweight Aggregate for High Strength and Durable Concrete

A new patented lightweight aggregates is tested. This type is given the name Flashag. The only solid raw material used to manufacture these aggregates is fly ash. The aggregates are sintered but not pelletized and the process is easy and inexpensive. This paper describes these patented aggregates and compares them with other lightweight and normal-weight aggregates that are used for concrete. T...

The influence of particle size and curing conditions on testing mineral trioxide aggregate cement

Objectives: To assess the effects on curing conditions (dry versus submerged curing) and particle size on the compressive strength (CS) and flexural strength (FS) of set MTA cement. Materials and methods: Two different Portland cements were created, P1 and P2, with P1 < P2 in particle size. These were then used to create two experimental MTA products, M1 and M2, with M1 < M2 in particle size. P...

Microhardness Properties of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate and Calcium-enriched Mixture Cement Plugs at Different Setting Conditions

BACKGROUND Providing an apical stop in open apex roots is one of the endodontic challenges. The aim of present study was to compare the surface hardness of both mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement at different setting situations. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 40 freshly extracted human teeth with a single root and normal apex and no obvious caries or ...
